And now for the biggie

Religion and pissing people off, yikes!

I do not condemn nor do I have any other motives. I merely as per usual express my own thoughts which are quite random in nature to be honest with ya.
I am not for everyone and everyone is not for me.

So what the heck is going on with religion? I align with many comedy sketches on the subject by a deceased funny man George Carlin. Don’t know who he is? Here is a link, just click these words in blue to be redirected to some of his material.

And then back to the post.
Religion is some seriously shaky nonsense. I do not have a care in the world at this point in time what religion you belong to or practice. It will not make a difference to my life. Though it may to yours.

We, the human race run around the globe chanting religions, reading scriptures and wasting a whole bunch of time practicing rituals and for what?

I can believe in the ocean if I so wish and the more I visit it the more I will learn and the deeper my belief may become. I can praise and worship old stone monuments if I so choose, I can pray ten times a day and bless myself every time I see a cross. What exactly is it you believe all this stuff listed above will do for you?
Will you be secure and safe in an after life?

Here is an idea to conisder.
Religion is a mental disorder!!!!!!

Ooops did I just say that out loud?

How many characters (indivudals) out there in the world have zero confidence in themselves yet they pray everyday and have an unwaivered belief in a mystery being or spirit somewhere in the skies?
We can supposedly see mars and neptune and the moon out there and there is yet to be a random sighting of “heaven” or whatever you call it.

How much pain and suffering comes to those who have served their God all of their life yet they are not spared any suffering?
Funny thing the teachings will make an attempt to convince you that suffering is all part of the gig.

How many people waste a whole bunch of time and MONEY on celebrating rituals?
The new clothes, the donations, the food and gift buying? Seems like religion is benefitting from the mainstream concept of parting you and your sheckles. And it is totally fine and expected.

Ah yes, perhaps I am damaged and so am blasphemist or something or other? An infidel perhaps?

So all this believing in stuff like holy books and medals and statues and devout sentiments towards spirit type beings or people and not one ounce of belief in self.
This raises a serious question?

The history of our world is not really recorded properly for us to know enough about anything from a few or more thousand years ago. Yet so many people are doing the thing, that trendy thing they refer to as religion. If every one is doing it, it must be right? Isn’t that scaringly obvious to be a wrong right there in itself?
Humans are killing each other over religious differences. This tells me something is seriously worth doubting when it comes to religious teachings as where on earrh does it state that we must kill each other to protect or defend our religious belief and if that is part of the criteria, then I definitely do not wish to be part of either the defending of mine nor the shunning of another. Do you, seriously?

I used the terminology of religion being a mental disorder somewhat as a joking type of way to put it as it was a slogan years ago for a political jab at one side or the order, made by a conservative, I believe it was, perhaps you can remember which?

Humans of the earth have poured billions upon billions of dollars/Euro in to places of worship and practicing of rituals for centuries now and yet we have starving children around the world. Child poverty is very real and is not something that requires a whole bunch of faith to understand it or see it. Yet it exists and there are not enough do gooders to rid the earth of it. How does that make all the religious people right?
Oh wait, allow me  to ponder for a moment, let us do it together. The children made their choices and so must live by them? WRONG!
The children were simply born!
Perhaps the children were born to non believers and so deserve to have stress and anxiety over childhood poverty before they might even learn how to speak.
WRONG!
So what exactly makes sense about the practicing religious people showing up to worship their GOD in a Bentley or a Mercedez, while little babies go hungry? Does this really make sense and is it part of the requirements of being religious? Do these things make sane and normal sense?

Perhaps because money has been touted as the “route to all evil” it is best to spare the poor and the starving from any unecessary extra evil and, well, let’s just leave them hungry instead as they have enough to deal with, without any extra burdens of evil.
Perhaps I am totally screwed up in my mind and it is me that possesses a mental disorder because I cannot find the sense in any of it. Of course the believers would like to think so at least.

Society exists around the world that believes it is right for us to fund billions upon billions of financial aid to WAR and only a portion of same monies to world child poverty. You can look up scientific studies that clearly state how the way to rid the world of serious illness and disease is to address the issue of child poverty. Remove this issue and serious illness will dicipate over time. Though the medicine industry will suffer and money will become smaller in that industry.

I do not know the correct word for the people who practice religion so strongly and have all their values in a line, yet they are complete assholes.
How can any person justify being an asshole through religion. Does this not mean that the whole game of religion is a justification system to allow certain things to be the way they are?

The books written on religion and their teachings have been used for centuries by people to justify their own argument or angle. Books written by men (most probably men) because back in the oh so mighty strong believing times of these religious books being written, women were lower class citizens. How does that even make sense right there?
Books, they are none the less and they dictate rules upon which society must follow and teach of how to be “good”. Yet a gazillion religious teachers have ran rampant in the world abusing the absolute human fibres out of people for centuries also.
Another very contraversial point about religion right their too.

I guess my own belief system says that if one wishes to practice religion and it works for them, so be it and good on you for that. I do however encourage some questioning of the practices as humans do not go blindly in faith in to any other area of life ever.

I do also believe that religious teachers prey quite deviously on those who appear a tiny bit more in need. Not following their religion to offer assistance and a helping hand. Not gathering more for the flock and then prey (not pray) upon their minds. Sick really and not what I ever understood of what being religious might be.

A very wise man, a wise old priest, a man of the cloth once sat with me as we discussed the topic of GOD. For him it had been his life devotion. For me a time of questioning. He asked me “Can you prove that GOD exists?”
Of course I thought about it for a while and felt like maybe his wisdom would out smart me quickly and after a little thought I answered “No”.
He quickly while smiling said he had another question, “Can you prove that GOD does not exists?”
I thought about it again and he was smiling and smiling away. Of course he knew my answer already, “No”.

He concluded that day that just because I cannot prove it does not mean I am right as by the same token I cannot disprove GOD either.
And the wise old priest finished with that is why they call it faith.

I do believe that once upon a time a barbaric type society existed and some form of rules were a good idea to help in developing a more civilized society. Can we say today it is civilized or have we been slipping backwards ever so slightly?

Is the “end of the world nigh?”

If the money hungry war lords of the world wish to continue turning a blind eye on child poverty then there is no religion in them and I do not care how many times they show up to religious service.
If humans wish to continue killing humans then I believe the ideas of teaching religion as a way to curtail barbaric practices has failed and so to be religious is to be part of a failed experiment.

Is blind faith and being religious a weakness of the mind or a mental disorder?

The good books will always have very vague answers that often can be argued on both sides of a debate and neither can be finite in conclusion. So what is religion and how does it have such a hold over humans?
And religious teachings will continue to draw money away from ridding the world of child poverty. How does any of this really make sense?

“An eye for an eye” they say and on the next inhale of breath they teach the power of “turn the other cheek”
How can both be correct?
If I were to walk out of my home today and knock on my neighbours door to discuss religion and faith they will deem me “mentally disturbed or mad”
If I were to knock on my neighbours door to discuss the ill of another human (gossip) I hold a much stronger chance of being entertained.
So many walk around “oh so righteous” while condemning fellow humans all in the name of religious beliefs of one kind or another.
Carry yourself in this same manner under the title of anything other than religion and you will be shunned or considered mentally unstable. Yet somehow how when we call it “my faith in my religion” is fine until it over steps a boundary of the original guidelines “thou shalt not kill” yet religious wars and ethnic cleansing appear to be “okay” ??????

The science says that I am made up of the same elements and atoms and molecules as the atmosphere and universe around me so therfore I am everything and I must believe in myself first. I must not cater to the historical abuse that has been hidden under title of religion and encourage others to break the cycle where they can see fit to and find strength to.

Your comments no matter how harsh are always welcome, whether you believe or practice is your own business at the end of the day.
For my own mental health sake I have a ton of other things to focus on today and religion is not one of them.

Stay safe, stay well and share.
