World mental health day 2023 – Does it mean anything to you?

World mental health day 2023 – Does it mean anything to you?

World mental health day 2023 is a very worthy day indeed. Are we ready to take a look at understanding or begin to blast the stigma to pieces?

When you stop and pause for a moment, let’s say like one minute of your time. Pause and ask ourselves “how is my mental health?” What happens? Do we shirk it off and say inside of our mind, I am fine and this is ridiculous? When we think on the subject of “mental health” do we think of somebody else? Somebody who suffers a little bit with a few issues? What does world mental health day 2023 mean to you?

Examples are a plenty though I have learned at quite a young age that it is important to speak about myself and my experiences and not speak about others or relate my own story by taking on someone else’s story. Not many of us will know how to do this and to know when it is not my story I am speaking and will deflect or reflect or put it all on someone else. So what does mental health mean to you? What does your own mental health look like or feel like?

It changes doesn’t it when we really think of mental health in the first person personal. “What, me and my mental health? I am fine”. This can be kind of funny, something to smile about. If we are all going around saying we are fine then how come the entire world has such a heavy burden on their mental health services? Did ya ever think about that for a minute?

Why is it that we only consider mental health or we only look at it from a third person perspective?  We can tell you a list of people who are suffering or need some kind of help with their issues as their mental health is not in such a great place. Oh YEAH? So what about me and my own state of mind?

This year in 2023 the slogan reads about bringing about a stop to the discrimination, perhaps we all can take the day to consider our own self instead of finger pointing. There is one thing that is a simple little trick when it comes to these types of things. Here is the flip the script words to consider on world mental health day.

“There is something wrong with that person?”

Let’s flip the script on that line right there, allow us to take a moment of our day and consider how better we may serve ourselves and our fellow humans.

“What is it that is right in my life?”

Perhaps we can take a little step further and see if there is something we can do other than criticise or speak about or in some cases belittle other people who may find life a tiny little bit more difficult in the mental health department.

“I know what you should do to help in your case”

Howe about we do indeed stop looking from the outside and begin to consider our own self and our abilities. Who wants skimpy advice from anyone who is judging or coming from a place of “out of touch”? Let’s make an effort with a simpler approach.

“How is my mental health and is there anything I can offer”

All we have to do is begin to take some ownership over our own lives. When we begin to look inside of ourselves and at our own issues, we do begin to see that we may have a few flaws here and there and a few areas that need a little work. When we get finished with self care we may then be in a position to offer others a helping hand.

When we become more grounded inside of our life, we may then begin to see that we can offer so much more to others and not by way of advice either. By way of, a listening ear without judgement. Sounds easy! Yet so hard to find these days.

Perhaps, by way of joining with others where they are at in their own struggle.  Here is a funny word that many of shy away from like it is kryptonite SUPPORT!

It appears that the world over is ready to support and willing to support and very many people are first in line to support. So what are you supporting? The belittling of others who are taking positive steps in tackling mental health in their daily lives or are you supporting the effort being made by the individual.

Are you supporting or discriminating?

2023 10/10. This is the day to ask yourself what is your position on the entirety of “World Mental Health Day” what say you.

If you are not for it, are you against it? If you are not against are you for it?

10/102023 Marks a special book birthday of my book Layman’s Handbook in life. You can find this on Amazon and I have placed a huge discount on it for the day because it is both the book birthday and the world mental health day. It is a handbook to take a look at some of where we might be with mental health and some of the remedies I have used to rescue myself from having a complete meltdown and losing myself to severe mental health issues in my own life journey and past. I have placed it on sale for the day to celebrate World Mental Health Day 2023-10-09
