Awesome August – New, Old, Same?

Awesome August- New, Old, Same?

It is only the passing of time that I record by the title of August. Month 8 of the calendar year and we have speed balled our way through 2023 already. What does that do for you reading that sentence about the passing of time?  Is it a creator of stress? “Oh my God, where has the time gone?”

The only thing I can confirm for you out of that is that it has definitely gone somewhere for sure.

Will we ever get it back?

Nope, not until the secrets of time travel are readily available for us all to use when and wherever we wish. I cannot foresee that technology in my lifetime.

What makes August Awesome though?

It marks another beginning which is a great time and signifies that we can indeed begin each new day, new month and a new year afresh. My own personal on it is that my father’s birthday occurs in August and so for this reason I do have reason to celebrate. Without his birthday I would not have become. I hear the statistics mentioned in many arenas that I frequent and it is definitely something to give consideration.

What statistics?

When the sperm enters and goes on its journey to fertilise the “egg”, there are millions of the little swimmers all making their way to find the ovum or whatever its true name is. Not too concerned to be scientifically correct here with the actual terms. The point is that out of a 100 million little fertiliser sperms only one makes it past the gate keepers and gets the job done. 100 million sperm released and only one made me, WOW!

So, the statistics we can give consideration to are those that show me that in order for my father to be born and have his birth-day 100 million sperm were released and made him. Then take another 100 million sperm that it took to have only one successfully make the journey and make me. We could if you like to ponder with me go back as far as one or two more generations in our family tree and consider that a great great grandfather also released 100 million as did his father before him and so on to allow me to be born. Let’s think about my own father and his father and then his father, wouldn’t tat mean 100 million to the power of three. You grab the calculator and do the math on how absolutely magnificent the odds of us being born at all are. I am and we all are miracles of statistics in our own right. The odds were stacked against us of ever being born at all, obviously because for every 100 million sperm that begin the journey to fertilise, it does not always happen. To only consider my own father and the 1 out of 100 million sperm that made me, that in itself is an astounding miracle of science or evolution or whatever it is called. And dare I complain about life and how things have worked out.

The statistics do not lie when it comes down to taking a real true look at how we came about to be.

Therefore August being my father’s birthday month means it is pretty awesome because it is how I came about to exist in the first place. And I am a statistical miracle to be s lucky to have made it being 1 out 1 million chance of being fertilised at all. Fascinating stuff my friends, fascinating!

I have also used the words in question form really in the title “New, Old, Same”. Is this your opportunity to realise the miracle that you are and begin to live your own life with gratitude and appreciation for what you have been gifted to enjoy? Are you ready to take a “NEW” perspective on how lucky you are? Will you continue to gripe about the past and continue the “OLD” you and the pains and quarrels of yesterday? Or hey whatever it is August 1st and it is a new month and here we go with the “SAME”? Same attitude, same outlook and same set of issues?

Perhaps for you nothing is awesome and August can go and “F&*) right off”.

I see every day as new opportunity, I see each new month as new opportunity and I do write this post to encourage you to give it a little smidgen of thought. Why so?

I have learned that we always have options and choices when it comes to how we approach a new day, we have the choice to begin again and start fresh. Yes I do understand that we may feel like we cannot escape the drudgery and we are faced with the same mundane tasks that we were faced with yesterday. I get that. The point being that once we realise the miracle that we are and how the odds were stacked against us from ever being created, perhaps we can see that out opportunities are endless and we do get to start over and begin again every day. If you would like to break things down into a miniscule level and look at any given day, we can begin again every second if we so wish to or actually need to reset and refresh ourselves in our own day and life. Definitely through the powers of meditation we can slow it all down and focus for one simple second and then with breath work inhale and exhale and we can bring about a new beginning right then and there.

I mention these to remind you or to introduce to you that whenever you want to reset and refresh, you can consider how out of 1 million sperm you were created by one. That out of the entire year we have been given a new beginning again at the first of the month. I also mention how through meditation you can begin again at any time and see that we do have a choice. We always have a choice of how our day will go. I have many days where I am pissed off about things and I do know that how I begin my day has a strong influence of how many of those pissed off times I will have. To be honest with you, I have more successful days when my pissed off times are less. It simply seems to work out that way. It is my choice to reset myself and gain a new outlook; it is my choice to have nicer things come my way.

OH! So all I have to do is make a decision and choose to have a rich and abundant life and it will happen?

Pretty much yeah, that is how it works in the theory of things. Ah, though how will you make your successes happen for you? What work will you put in to bring you closer to your goals? What action will you take to make your life a better life for yourself? I cannot do for you; I cannot will it to happen for you. What I can do though is write my blog post and put it out there for the entire world to read, in this post I remind of a few simple things that YOU CAN DO for you.

  1. Remember it is in your power to choose how your day will go.
  2. Remind yourself that you have the power to reset at any time in your day.
  3. Remember that you are a walking living miracle based upon scientific statistics.
  4. Remind yourself that for every pissed off moment that occurs you may be choosing to allow a great opportunity of nice and happy slip away.
  5. Remember that there is only one YOU and that there is only ONE go around this beautiful merry-go-round of LIFE.

Enjoy your day and give it some thought, you will be happier when you do. I know this from living it and I know these things from everyday practices.

Aidan Mc Nally from a little fishing village called Loughshinny on the east coast of Ireland in Co. Dublin. Aidan is a well traveled individual who has done so for work as a commercial fisherman and has enjoyed some of the most beautiful life has to offer. Writing came about when pains and sorrows and emotional turmoil struck hard in life; in the process of finding ways to deal with emotions while suffering and struggling with grief Aidan began writing out his thoughts and feelings. One day those writings became his first ever book and his memoir was born. TWO sons TOO many. Aidan then went on to further writing by reliving his own pains of youth and delivering an insightful coming of age memoir. 17 & Life. Having lived life around the globe the real navigation became about discovering himself and why he pained so much following the tragic loss of his two sons. Aidan delivered a quote / unquote Self-Help book where he discussed all that he has overcome and the way in which he found his inner resilience to follow his mantra of "Never Give Up". Layman's Handbook in Life. His writing continues through thought provoking blogging and a number "WIP" pieces while he enjoys the virtuous cycle of life now with a strong attitude of Aspire to Inspire. His living through traumatic experiences are things he openly discusses to aid his brothers and sisters to see the good in all they have come through and to motivate those who need a helping hand or comforting words through their own dark place. Aidan is no stranger to many items that many may never comprehend or experience and uses his worldly knowledge to serve better his fellow humans in finding the good in their life or situations. He knows too well there is good that can combat all, he calls it LOVE.
